Cal Poly Theater Posters

Objective: Out of a list of eight plays on the agenda to be performed next academic school year, pick four and create advertisement posters to be placed around the campus of CPP.

​

Result: A mix of photography and digital illustration brings to light some key concept ideas of each show. Whether it be emotionally or visually an ambiance created to match the mood of each play.

Spring Dance Concert

Plot: The spring dance concert did not have a story at the time of creating the posters. Rather the director stated that they were looking for modern abstract movements as the driving idea behind the imagery.

The Nether

Plot: The Nether is a virtual wonderland that provides total sensory immersion. Just log in, choose an identity and indulge your every desire. But when a young detective uncovers a disturbing brand of entertainment, she triggers an interrogation into the darkest corners of the imagination

Let Me Down Easy

Plot: In this solo show constructed from verbatim interview transcripts, Anna Deavere Smith examines the miracle of human resilience through the lens of the national debate on health care.

The Thanksgiving Play

Plot: A one-act satirical comedy about four white people trying to devise a politically correct First Thanksgiving play for Native American Heritage Month to be done in the schools. The director, Logan, hires a Native American actor to be their cultural compass.
